Around 35 South Australian businesses will be able to benefit from increased rebates on energy efficiency audits in 2010-2011 according to leading business and carbon management firm Big Switch Projects. The rebates are offered through the Business Energy Efficiency Program, a component of the Australian Government funded Adelaide Solar City Project.
Big Switch Projects said rebates of could now be realised for eligible mid to large sized businesses. Previously the maximum available rebate was in the order of 20%. The increased rebate is available to forward thinking businesses with energy bills of more than $70,000 per year within the Adelaide City Council area, and the cities of Salisbury, Playford and Tea Tree Gully. It offers a level 2 energy efficiency audit that meets the AS/NZ 3598:2000 standard.
Businesses that previously opted out of energy efficiency audits due to the cost involved now have a valuable window of opportunity to green their operations at a much lower cost, Big Switch Projects State Manager SA, Mr Vikram Kenjle, said.
