They have resources that small businesses can tap into, the Business Advisory, Better Business Workshops and Business Owners Coaching Program just to name a few. The service of a Business Advisor was invaluable, who we were to speak to when we had ideas to grow the business, recruit staff etc. It is always lonely when you own your own business, so it is a real asset to have someone to speak to who has been there done that. The mentor program in particular, provides valuable information on not only what I need to do, but how to and why I need to certain things in order to achieve those goals. I had heard about the Business Enterprise Centre business coaching from Mayor Gillian Aldridge-Salisbury women's day breakfast. I sat next to a lady who is involved with the govt initiatives for small business. When I rang the Business Enterprise Centre they wasted no time in getting back to me. My Advisor was Rob Chisholm. He was a successful business man himself and had a pretty good idea of what we needed to do. Rob is a friendly and patient man with plenty of business knowledge. He assisted us by making us aware of what we needed to do to achieve our goals and improve our business. We had a few meetings with Rob and with some brain storming had come up with some good initiatives we will use in the future. Because of our brain storming we come to realise we can't do it all ourselves and where it is best to to utilise our own talent and what we should we should be employing others to do. Rob increased our confidence in the future of our business and has always left the lines of communication open if we need more advice. There are also other avenues of advice, benchmarking and talking to other business people through the Business breakfasts and other initiatives from the Govt to assist small business which we would never have known about if it wasn't for Rob.
